Take a drive on the wild side! Get your motor running and slide up the varathane highway Asessippi way, and you’ll find yourself at one of the best house concert venues in the province! Just north of Russell, just south of Roblin and a jog up the road from Inglis, is where Roots at Rusty’s is located. Steve and Lori, the homeowners have hosted Home Routes concerts ever since building their house with home concerts in mind. We had a wee chat before talking to that months artist in residence (for 1 day!), Big Dave McLean.

Big Dave needs no introduction, so here goes… wikipedia says he “is a Canadian blues guitarist, harmonicist, singer and songwriter. A veteran performer, his work has had an influence on many western Canadian blues musicians, including Colin James and Wide Mouth Mason. Notable McLean songs include "She's Got the Stuff", "Kanadiana", "Up On Waverly", and "St. Mary At Main". Billboard noted that "Big Dave's been the quintessential behind-the-scene bluesman. He's done more to shape the Western Canadian blues scene than perhaps any other artist".

The best way to listen to Big Dave perform is in a venue like Roots at Rusty
